Good Deeds for Community 2

A simple meal really can make a difference in a person's life.  This is something many of us take for granted. Recently Amy Weimer and her daughter Madilyn came face to face with that reality.  The Anniston Soup Bowl is a local organization that routinely feeds the hungry.  This week they were closed to allow their normal workers to have a vacation. Many Local churches have joined together in order to keep their good works moving ahead.

  In Amy's own words

"I was able to serve the Homeless in Zinn Park yesterday. The Anniston Soup Bowl feeds the homeless daily at 1516 Moore Ave, Anniston, AL 36201 We fed approx. 150 people!

Jesus taught in His Word to serve others and so that is why I am compelled to Serve. We got to meet and love on so many people.

James 1:22  Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."

Amy stated some of the folks they fed were not homeless but needed a meal because they had to choose between buying groceries or paying their utility bills.  This is a worthy cause because each one of us at some time in our lives can be faced with similar choices. We thank Amy and her daughter as well as the local churches and the Soup Bowl for their generous work in reminding people that no matter what their current situation is, they still matter.
